I wasn’t going to do a top articles of 2023 post, but I got convicted because it is important to give God praise for what He has seen fit to do. I also think it good to leave a record of God’s faithfulness. I have received many comments and emails encouraging me about how the podcast and blogs have been used by God in a variety of ways, and I am so thankful the Lord has been pleased to do that.

We are nothings, but God has chosen to allow this small ministry to bear fruit. So, as a testimony of His faithfulness, here are the 2023 stats (you can compare with the 2022 stats from last year).

• There were 44 articles published (down from from 64 in 2022).
• The blog saw a 49.73% increase in visitors this year compared to 2022 (in 2022 there was a 67% increase in traffic from 2021).
• Although last year 60% of the blog visitors come from search engines, in 2023 that number was up to 65%.
• Google made up 88% of search engine traffic this year, compared to only 58% of the search engine traffic last year (2022).
• Facebook accounted for 75% of social media traffic in 2023. Twitter and Youtube were both about 12% respectively, the rest being made up of other social media sites, like Reddit.

Most Read Blog Articles in 2023

1. David as a Man after God’s Own Heart (1 Sam 13:14)

No changes here. This is probably the most read article for 4 or 5 years running. This year I did record a podcast and Youtube video explaining my understanding of this text.

2. What Was the Population of the Earth Before the Flood?

This article moved from #4 in 2022 to the #2 spot in 2023. People are inquisitive about the preflood world.

3. Full List of Resurrections in the Bible

This article was my attempt at listing all the resurrections in the Bible. I am happy many people have found it helpful.

4. Why the Levite Cut Up His Concubine in Judges 19

Another odd issue to think about, but apparently people are googling this issue.

5. Why James Translates Jacob in the New Testament

Again, an issue that not everyone knows about. But the people who do know about this issue are usually googling searching for answers as to why our English translations use James instead of Jacob.

Those are the top five most visited blog articles this year. I should also say that since the time I started the blog (2014), 300+ articles have found there way on The Bible Sojourner blog. Some are clearly better than others, but if you’re interested in looking at the Archive (which lists the most recent 100), you can find those here.
