Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Peter Goeman and I have the privilege of being Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Shepherd’s Theological Seminary in Cary, NC.

I originally started this website for a chance to think through some issues by writing about them. Although that original purpose continues, I also have had the privilege of using this site to reach out to those who have a like-minded interest in studying Scripture.

A Little History

I was born into a Christian home and grew up in northern Minnesota. When I graduated High School and went to Santa Clarita, CA to attend The Master’s University (TMU). While at TMU, God allowed me to lead some Bible studies, and those experiences helped shape my heart for a passion to help God’s people to learn His word. It was through those experiences that my desire to go to seminary grew, and that ultimately led me to continue going to school at The Master’s Seminary where I ultimately got my PhD in Old Testament Studies in 2017. In 2017 my family and I moved to Cary, NC to serve at Shepherds Theological Seminary.

I have been involved in various ministries since 2011, including pastor of an English-Korean ministry and serving as Youth Director for student ministries. Currently I serve at The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC as the Young Adult leader.

I have been blessed with an amazing wife, Kinsley, and two sons. There is nothing else in life I enjoy more than being a husband and father.

I grew up playing all sports (all real sports anyway). Growing up, I spent most of my time playing baseball and swimming. I would list my current hobbies as reading, hiking, working out, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, chess.

If you are interested in the academic side of my life, you can view my CV or my Publications page.
